LANDSCAPE DESIGN OF URBAN CORE PORTAL NODE OF FOSHAN HI-TECH ZONE

The landscape design of Foshan Hi-Tech Zone is just a starting point of a series planning and design works. We did a lot of research on the industrial distribution of Foshan “One Zone Five Parks”, and proposed a system of three-level gateways. And we developed six prototypes to adapt to the different site situations.

In the 25-square kilometer-range of the core zone of Foshan Hi-Tech Area, we gave design solutions to boundary, road and nodes, and designed two main streets—Taoyuan Avenue and Information Avenue as the leading example of the core zone.

The design concept was called “eye of Foshan”, and was developed into a series of design of landscape sculpture/urban furniture etc.

This project is not only about design, but also could be seen as an attempt of building a system of research and planning for the entire Foshan Hi-Tech Zone design, which is very instructive for the future works.
